After waiting for so long years Xiaomi launched its new laptop series "MI NOTEBOOK 14" in India today (11th June 2020). The laptop looks pretty good and has a beautiful design. Xiaomi also includes a 720p HD web-cam separately in the box. This is the first ever laptop to launched by Xiaomi in India.

The laptop is made of Aluminium and Magnesium alloy combination , so the device should be quite sturdy. It weighs about only 1.5 Kg. In the right side there is a Charging port,a  HDMI, two USB 3.1 port and one USB Type C port and in the left a USB 2 port and 3.5mm Jack which doubles as a headphone and mic are included for connectivity. It has a 2*2W stereo speakers. The laptop has a 14 inch Full HD Antiglare display with 91% screen to body ratio in the front. It has a 178 degree wide viewing angle. This display is covered by a very thin bezels in the sides and the top. While the bottom bezel is thick while comparing with the others and it has a Mi branding.

It has a Chicklet type Scissor-Switch mechanism in the keyboard of 1.3mm travel distance. Since it is an Ultrabook it is only 17.15mm thick which makes it Ultra portable. In the Internals it has a 8GB DDR4 (2666MHz) RAM soldered ,so upgrading the RAM is not possible which is a major disadvantage.It does come with a 46Wh battery and the device is also packed with a 65W fast charging cable adapter. Xiaomi also claims that it can charge 0 - 50% within half an hour.  The MI NOTEBOOK 14 comes with a intel's 10th generation  Core i5 - 10210U cometlake processor  (clocked at 1.6GHz with max clock speed frequency of 4.2GHz) with max clock speed frequency of 4.2GHz coupled with Intel UHD620 or Nvidia's Geforce MX 250 Graphics card of 2GB VRAM. It has 256GB SSD(SATA) or 512GB SSD(SATA) storage options. 

There is also a higher end Variant called MI NOTEBOOK 14 HORIZON EDITION. All the externals are same but some major internals are tweaked in this variant.This variant has also only 8GB DDR4 (2666MHz)RAM  It has a Intel's 10th generation cometlake core i5 processor (clocked at 1.6GHz with max clock speed frequency of 4.2GHz) with 512 GB SSD (SATA) option (or) core i7-10510U processor  (clocked at 1.8GHz with max clock speed frequency of 4.9GHz) with 512 GB SSD(NVMe) storage option. It is packed with NVIDIA GeForce MX 350 dedicated graphics card of 2GB VRAM . It is to be noted that this is the first laptop to be introduced with the NVIDIA's  GeForce MX 350 card . 

Both the Variants on Windows 10 Home edition and it is pre-loaded with some useful applications called Mi Share and Mi Blaze Unlock which are pretty good handy features.

Nvidia launched it's new RTX 30 series GPUs.

Courtesy: Nvidia Last Tuesday Nvidia launched it's next generation 30 series RTX graphic cards. The company launched the cards in three variants RTX 3070, RTX 3080, RTX 3090 . These cards are built based on the Ampere architecture while the former RTX cards are based on the Turing architecture. Nvidia also claims that these cards offer 2X  power than the previous generation cards. RTX 3070 : Courtesy: Nvidia   Starting of with the lower variant RTX 3070, this card beats the current generation flagship RTX 2080Ti GPU in terms of performance and it is also 60% faster than the RTX 2070.
