Nvidia launched it's new RTX 30 series GPUs.

Last Tuesday Nvidia launched it's next generation 30 series RTX graphic cards. The company launched the cards in three variants RTX 3070, RTX 3080, RTX 3090. These cards are built based on the Ampere architecture while the former RTX cards are based on the Turing architecture.

Nvidia also claims that these cards offer 2X power than the previous generation cards.

RTX 3070 :

Starting of with the lower variant RTX 3070, this card beats the current generation flagship RTX 2080Ti GPU in terms of performance and it is also 60% faster than the RTX 2070. Note that this RTX 3070 has 8GB of  GDDR6 memory which is present in the previous generation 20 series cards. This card can easily handle the games at 1440p and 4K resolutions. The Nvidia RTX 3070 Founders edition is priced at $499 (50,000 Rs/-).

RTX 3080 :

The company calls  RTX 3080 as their flagship card  and they also claim that this RTX 3080 is 2X faster than the RTX 2080. It has 10GB of GDDR6X memory (only RTX 3070 has GDDR6 memory)

which will be running at 19Gb/s. Nvidia also says that this RTX 3080 can push the games at 4K resolution in 60 FPS consistently. This RTX 3080 Founders edition is available for $699 (71,000 Rs/-).

RTX 3090 :

The top of the line is RTX 3090, which is something extremely powerful and Nvidia calls this as BFGPU ( Big Ferocious GPU ) . This graphics card directly beats their Titan RTX GPU with 50% faster performance. It also has a monstrous 24GB GDDR6X memory. This graphics card also comes with a silencer. With the help of a three-slot, dual-axial, flow through design this RTX 3090 GPU can run 10 times quieter than the current generation RTX Titan cards. This GPU has the ability to push the games at 60 FPS in 8K resolution. The Nvidia RTX 3090 GPU Founders edition is priced at $1.499 (1,52,000 Rs/-)

Other Technologies :

Nvidia introduced some new technologies alongside launch of the second generation RTX cards.

NVIDIA Reflex :

Nvidia Reflex is a new suite of technology, which can optimize and measure the system latency. This can achieve the lowest possible latency in the modern day multiplayer games. It also reduces the latency by 50% and it is now being embedded in the popular games like Apex Legends, COD: Warzone, Fortnite and Valorant.

NVIDIA  Broadcast :

This new plugin is mainly targeted at the streamers, who stream their games in various platforms like Twitch and Youtube . It can improve the quality of microphones and web cameras with RTX accelerated AI effects. The streamers can also able to set amazing virtual wallpapers for their background.

NVIDIA  Omniverse Machinima :

This software takes advantage during the storytelling part in the games. With the help of webcams the users can create characters, add physics and animations for the supported games. This program will soon hit the early access mode. 

Improvements in RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards :

Nvidia RTX 30 series has come with some major advancements and thus making it as future proof.

Fastest Graphics memory :

This is the major improvement in this RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards. The company worked with Micron and delivered the world'd fastest gaming memory GDDR6X. It can support data speeds close to 1 TB/s  system memory bandwidth for graphics card applications.

Second gen RT Cores :

These are new RT cores which are 2 times more powerful than it's predecessor. It also has 58 RT-TFLOPS of processing power.

Third gen Tensor Cores :

This third gen Tensor cores also delivers 2x throughput of the  previous generation. As it has 238 Tensor-TFLOPS of processing power it is more efficient to run AI powered technologies like NVIDIA DLSS.

NVIDIA RTX IO :

 It not only makes the games to load faster, it also boosts the input/output performance by up to 100x when compared with the traditional hard drives. 

Next gen process technology :

Nvidia joined hands with Samsung for new 8N custom process, which provides higher transistor density and more efficiency.

Upcoming RTX enabled games :

The company announced to be working with the modern esports games to take the true advantage of the GPU. The bunch of games to get added in the list are : Fortnite, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2 and Watch Dogs: Legion.

Nvidia's offers:

The company also offers a PC version of Watch Dogs: Legion and a free one year GeForce Now subscription ( Nvidia's Cloud gaming service) for the RTX 30 series GPU buyers.
