ROG Phone 3 launched at around ₹50K , with 144 Hz and Snapdragon 865+

Asus launched it's next generation flagship gaming smartphone ROG PHONE 3 this wednesday ( 22nd July 2020). It's nearly been 9 months since the Rog phone 2 was unveiled. This ROG series by asus is perfectly suitable for hardcore mobo-gamers. This phone has a complete gamer look design and it is quite evolved from the last year model. For protection Asus covered with Gorilla Glass 3 in the back and the Gorilla Glass 6 in the front.

What makes ROG PHONE 3 Unique:

Asus produce this smartphone with Ultrasonic buttons, which are static buttons functionally acts as Air Triggers. This Air Triggers can also be doubled. There is also another button virtually, which comes into action by shaking the phone. This smartphone has dedicated accessories which helps for cooling and many other features. ROG PHONE 3 also supports the ROG PHONE 2 accessories and vice-versa.

What's included in the box ? 

This Rog Phone 3 comes with a AeroActive Cooler 3(which acts as a heat dissipation fan), AeroActive Case ( this is different from the normal case, it is hard and made of plastic), a 30W fast charger, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, Rubber Pieces to cover the ports, a Type-C to Headphone Jack converter. Yes Asus disappointed us by removing the head phone jack.

Positioning of buttons and ports:

The Power button and the volume rocker keys are located in the right side and below the power button a mic is also placed. The Ultrasonic buttons are positioned in the top and bottom edges. The top portion is left clean with a mic. In the left a dual sim slot and a primary mic is incorporated . If you have been wondering about the number of microphones Asus also provided another mic near the rear cameras. Totally there are 4 mics.

The smartphone comes with 6.59" AMOLED Panel. This display also has HDR 10+ certification, which helps for viewing HD contents. It also supports 144Hz Refresh Rate and 270 Hz Touch Sampling Rate. This brings the smartphone a buttery smooth experience.

Camera:

Yet it is a gaming centered phone, it is also worth mentioning that it's a flagship. It has a triple camera setup in the back. The main senor is a 64 megapixel shooter, 13MP Ultrawide and a 5MP Macro sensor. In the front it has a 24MP selfie shooter. The manufacturer also gave a dedicated pro mode for video capturing. It can capture upto 8K@30FPS.

Internals:

Not only a display can bring that experience, this is possible when a powerful processor is packed. ROG PHONE 3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, which is a overclocked version of Snapdragon 865. The Clock frequency is upto 3.1GHz. To Support the gaming section it is embedded with Adreno 650 GPU. To handle the multipurpose tasks it is packed upto 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM. It also comes upto 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It is same as the previous version in battery size. The smartphone will run by a humongous 6,000mAh battery. Asus claims that the 30W charger can boost 0 - 4510 mAh in just 46 minutes.

It also supports 5G, WiFi 6 with dual band support and Bluetooth 5.1 in terms of connectivity.

Color:

It seems that the smartphone will only available in a Black Glare color option.

Pricing & Availability :

The smartphone will be available in two variants:

 1) 8GB RAM + 128 GB ROM will avail @ 49,999 Rs ($670).

 2) 12 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM will avail @ 57,999 Rs ($777).

The device will hit the sale starting from August 6, via Flipkart.
